In SalesAutopilot form confirm pages and profile update forms / surveys can be personalized with merge tags. This means that you can insert merge tags into a form confirm page, for example the subscriber's first name (if you've asked for their first name during signup). When the confirm page comes up SalesAutopilot replaces this merge tag to the value of the field in the list.
For example if the first sentence of the signup confirm page is: Thank you for your signup, [mssys_firstname]
! If the subscriber's first name is John, then the first sentence will be the following: Thank you for your signup, John!
Of course you can use all the fields in the list to personalize the confirm page and the profile update form.
In addition, you can insert different date merge tags also ([dateformat('Y. M d.'),{_serverdate}+0days]
).
Create a two-step signup process
In confirm pages you can insert whole profile update pages. This way it's easy to create a two-step signup process. In the first step the subscriber types his/her email address only and in the second step that is actually the confirm page of the signup form, we ask for more data from him/her through a profile update form.
To create this process you have to create a profile update form first. Then create a signup form, and copy the profile update form into the confirm page of the signup form. So the final confirm page of the process will be the confirm page of the profile update form.
The advantage of this solution is that it makes the decision to sign up easier for the subscriber, we don't scare him/her away with a long signup form. If the subscriber doesn't fill in the second step we have the opportunity to send him/her the profile update form later again.
